I am being inundated with complaints that there is an impostor out there in the world of jelly beans masquerading as me. I can now confirm, sadly, that this is true. This fake Jelly Belly is even pretending to copy some of your favourite flavours and actually trying to convince you that it is a Jelly Belly jelly bean. Indeed, until many of my fans actually bite into this jelly bean, they actually do believe that it is the one and only ME!. Once they have tasted it of course, they can tell the difference. But by then it’s often too late. Their Jelly Belly taste buds have been sullied and scorned – sometimes with devastating results. Take one email that I received from a sweet girl and a vegetarian who after tasting the fake bean and naturally hated the taste, knowing it was nothing like her usual Jelly Belly standard, scrutinised the ingredients list only to find that it was NOT after all vegetarian. Still not realising it wasn’t a Jelly Belly (I suppose she was in such a rage by this time) she wrote to me to complain. I managed to placate her of course and point out that she had BEAN CONNED, but PLEASE, PLEASE be careful. Do not accept anything other than Jelly Belly jelly beans.
