MAJELLIC BEANS

The Adventures of Clip Cheesecake

CLIP CHEESECAKE AND THE MAJELLIC BEANS make great holiday reading for jelly bean fans with an actual or mental age of circa 8 years old.   Don't be put off if you think you're older.  It's a load of fun with the bonus that all funds (not just profits) raised from  the sale of the book goes to a great charity set up in honour of the late Roy Castle.

CLIP CHEESECAKE  is the brainchild of Ferdie Yeatsy (as in 38-C).   It didn't sound like a proper name to us either but Ferdie is the real deal, the book is fab and he LOVES Jelly Belly.    The story though is about Clip who was an abandoned orphan gathered up by Lord and Lady Celery.  Clip's adoptive parents are mad about jelly (the wobbly kind) and jelly beans.  The tale unfolds when Clip, who has grown into a fine young man, is now running the Jolli-Jelli Works with Miss Wibble-Wobble, another Jelly fan.  Uncle Celery meanwhile has gone global in search of the little known Bonga-Bonga jelly bean.

So much for the goodies.    The baddy of the piece is the evil  Landlord Stanley Snivelling-Slicer who is going to close down the factory if Clip doesn't pay the excessive rent.   This is really just a wheeze so Snivelling-Slicer can take over the factory for free.   Obviously such wickedness cannot triumph and indeed it does not.    However, were it not for the intervention of Majellic Max and  a secret weapon sent from Africa by Lord Celery, the story may have had a very different ending.

CLIP CHEESECAKE AND THE MAJELLIC BEANS  is funny from start to finish and  wonderfully illustrated by David Barnett.   Jelly Belly  are delighted to promote this delightful tale - the launch of which coincides with the new Beanaturals range of jelly beans.   All funds raised from the book will go to The Roy Castle Fund for Cancer Research.   If you buy a copy through our on-line shop  (£7.50) you will also receive a a free 35g box of Beanaturals.     Lord Celery would have approved!
